2025 - National Ercoupe Convention

Online and mail-in registration ends on June 30th, 2025.  After that, you will need to register at the convention as a walk-up.

After June 30th, there is a $15.00 late registration fee. This applies to walk-ups and anything postmarked after June 30th.

This is a non-refundable event. Airplane parking will be in the grass: bring your tie-downs.

Hotel Information

Country Inn and Suites is the Preferred Lodging for this event.

Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, 1520 Metro Drive, Schofield. Please use the Inn’s local number (715)359-1881 when making your reservation. We have a block of rooms held under Ercoupe Convention until June 15 so be sure to book your room early. This hotel offers a free hot breakfast and is located next door to a popular local restaurant, The Log Cabin. Cost is $99 plus tax.

An additional block of rooms is available at the Holiday Inn & Suites1000 Imperial Drive, Rothschild (banquet location). Please use the Inn’s local number (715)355 -1111 when making your reservation. This hotel has a full restaurant on-site and free Central Wisconsin Airport shuttle service. We have a block of rooms held under Ercoupe Owners Club with a code of EOC until June 15th so be sure to book your room early. Cost is $149 plus tax

The importance of reserving your room early cannot be stressed enough. Hotels in the Wausau area become fully booked by people attending summer activities and AirVenture.

 


Camping is available on the airfield at the Wausau Downtown Airport (KAUW)

There is tent camping in the grass behind the private hangars. Showers are available for campers at the FBO.

Motor home parking is available only on the hard surface of the parking lot but with no hookups.

The airport offers alcohol free, unleaded gas for those with that STC (that STC is available from the EAA and Peterson Aviation).

 


 Shuttle Information
Shuttles will bring convention attendees from the Central Wisconsin Airport (if you fly in commercially.) Shuttles will transport you between the Country Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn, Rothschilds and the Wausau Downtown Airport.

These two beautiful parks have area to explore and a wonderful, paved walking path along the Wisconsin River. Transportation shuttle vans or if you are driving just a 6-minute drive from the airport. Lunch will be served at noon.

Wednesday Activities July 16

Marieke Gouda Farm and Cheese Factory Tour and Lunch

There will be transportation. It will leave at 10:00 taking us to Throp, Wisconsin. You’ll get to tour the farm, milking parlor, and Cow Spa that shows you the in-depth process of how their award-winning Gouda cheese is made. Cost of tour is $20 per adult, $15 per seniors (60+). (Includes cost of transportation)

Lunch will be at the farm’s Café Dutchess, we'll eat in shifts.

To help with pre-planning, here are the lunch choices. You'll pay for your lunch when you eat. We're using a limited menu for the EOC group.

  • Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap $11.95
  • Avocado Chicken Bacon Caeser Salad $12.50

Dinner at KMFI

We'll start with a briefing for pilots flying to Marshfield Hamburger Night at KMFI

Flight will be in-trail, with 500 feet spacing between planes.

Pilots are encouraged to invite attendees who do not have planes to ride along with them.

Suggested Donation $10.

We will return to the Wausau Airport about 7 pm.

Shuttle vans will bring folks back to their hotel.

Note that the Art Museum Tour and Maintenance Seminar are both at the same time. You can do one or the other!

Briefing in Hangar 4 for flight to Shawano Airport.

Pilots are encouraged to ask those not flying to ride along with them.

We will fly in-trail, with about 500 feet spacing between planes. We will order off the menu at the Lighthouse Restaurant.

Flyout to Shawano Airport

Fliers depart to Shawano Airport. There's not a bus or shuttle option. This is for the pilots to practice for OSH, and have lunch. :-)

Flyers will depart to fly in-trail to the Shawano Airport. Should be back by 13:45

Leigh Yawkey Art and Marathon County Historical Museums

Shuttle vans will provide transportation.

The Art Museum is internationally known for its “Birds in Art” exhibition. Nature’s beauty is on display in both their gardens and gallery filled with bird and nature-theme art. During your time in Wausau you’ll also see photographic exhibits, “Scared Nature” and “Double Exposure: Community Portraits”. Historical Museums exhibits are “Our Stories: The History of Marathon County”, “The 1920’s: Rebellion, Prosperity, and Loss”, and “Ain’t She Sweet: Women in the 1920s”.

This alternative is for those not attending the maintenance seminar (or sleeping off lunch (heh))

EOC Dinner

5:15 pm - board transportation (a sign will be in the window saying "ERCOUPE") on Knapp Street just west of the Ultralite Red Barn. Transportation will bring us to the Ercoupe Dinner at LaSure's Catering Hall, 3125 South Washburn Street, Oshkosh. The transportation will return us to the airfield after the dinner.

There will be an open cash bar from 5:30pm until 7:00pm. Dinner from 7pm - 9pm.
